How Golfy works
Three steps from your next tee time to a collection you'll keep for life.
- 1
Check in when you play
Search 12,000+ US courses, tap check in, add your score and a photo. Every course you've played lives in one collection.
- 2
Earn XP by rarity
Every course is scored from Common to Legendary. Rare, hard-to-access and championship courses pay out far more XP than the local muni.
- 3
Level up and compete
Unlock badges for milestones and states, climb the leaderboard, and claim King of the Course with the lowest score among your friends.

Not all courses are worth the same
Every course in Golfy has a rarity score from 0 to 100. A first check-in earns 2.5 XP per point plus a tier bonus — so Pebble Beach is worth about eight times your home muni. How rarity is scored
Common
Rarity 0–49
Everyday municipal and local courses. The backbone of any collection.
e.g. rarity 35 → +88 XP
Uncommon
Rarity 50–74
Courses that stand out in their region — fewer nearby alternatives or notable design.
e.g. rarity 60 → +175 XP
Rare
Rarity 75–84
Destination courses, well-known resort tracks and hard-to-access clubs.
e.g. rarity 80 → +300 XP
Epic
Rarity 85–94
Championship venues and top-ranked courses with real tournament history.
e.g. rarity 90 → +475 XP
Legendary
Rarity 95–100
The rarest courses in America — major championship hosts and bucket-list icons.
e.g. rarity 99 → +748 XP
Become King of the Course
Every check-in logs a score. Post the lowest round among your friends at a course and you hold the crown until someone beats it — on a map of every course your group has played.
Level up from XP, chase the friends leaderboard, and repeat courses to defend your titles (repeat rounds count for the crown, but only new courses earn XP).

Frequently asked questions
What is Golfy?
Golfy is a golf course collector app for iPhone. You check in at every course you play, earn XP based on how rare that course is, unlock badges and compete with friends on leaderboards. Think of it as a passport for your golf life.
Is Golfy a GPS or scorecard app?
No. Golfy tracks the courses you've played, not every stroke. You log a score at check-in so friends can compete for King of the Course, but there's no rangefinder or shot tracking — it's about building your collection.
How many golf courses are in Golfy?
Golfy covers more than 12,000 golf courses across all 50 states and Washington, DC, each scored for rarity. If you can't find a course, contact support and we'll add it.
How does course rarity work?
Every course gets a rarity score from 0 to 100 based on scarcity, exclusivity and difficulty, grouped into Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary tiers. A first check-in earns 2.5 XP per rarity point plus a tier bonus of up to 500 XP for Legendary courses.
How much does Golfy cost?
Golfy is free to download. Full access requires Go Pro: $3.99 per month or $19.99 per year, both with a 2-week free trial, or $59.99 for lifetime access.
Is Golfy available on Android?
Golfy is currently iOS only (iPhone and iPad, iOS 17 or later). Android is on the roadmap — email support@joingolfy.app to be notified.
